Mrs. Rochelle Papasin, an instructor at the Philippine Science High School – Southern Mindanao Campus, gave Davao City another laurel to its cap. She was hailed as one of the top ten Most Outstanding Teachers in the field of secondary education, as awarded by Metrobank Foundation, Inc.
The foundation has been saluting teachers for many years now, giving them due recognition for their essential contributions to improving the quality of education in the country. This year, the search compiled a total of 173 nominees, and only Mrs. Papasin (in photo, seated at left) and nine other teachers from all over the Philippines were chosen as the cream of the crop.
The distinguished ten will be awarded on September 4, 2009 at the Metrobank Plaza in Makati. The awarding ceremonies will come in time for the 47th anniversary of Metrobank.
Hubby’s personal note: I am proud to have learned under the wings of Ma’am Rochelle for our Research subject in fourth year high school. I remember her as a charismatic and sweet-voiced mentor who always carried herself with poise. Congrats, Ma’am Rochelle!
