Cafe Demitasse: Home of Great Food, Coffee and Desserts

I consider myself a “convenient eater”. I enjoy eating in restaurants that offer a complete meal, mainly for convenience. If the place offers appetizers, main course, dessert and drinks, then it probably goes straight into my favorites list.

Cafe Demitasse, F. Torres Street, Davao City

Cafe Demitasse is a welcome addition to my favorite restaurants in Davao City. Located in the more peaceful side of F. Torres Street, this all-in-one diner impressed us with its wide array of menu offerings. Breakfast staples, pasta, appetizers and beer matches, entrees, desserts, coffee and shakes — now that’s a jampacked menu!

The restaurant’s best offering is a toss up between two pesto-based dishes. Leah’s favorite is Pesto Pasta (P155), which packs the palate with spaghetti noodles coated with rich basil and topped with shrimp and parmesan cheese.

Meanwhile, Chicken Pesto Parmigiano (P215) makes my taste buds happy, with its complex flavors and textures: battered chicken fillet generously sprinkled with parmesan cheese and pesto sauce on the side.

Cafe Demitasse also showcases other succulent main courses. Osso Bucco (P250) is a tomato-based stew of fall-off-the-bones beef shanks. Hickory Chicken with Garlic BBQ Rice (P210) is loaded with herbs and flavors infused into chicken breast.

Aside from these, we frequent Cafe Demitasse because of the ice-blended coffee drinks. So far, we’ve tried Mocha Frappe, Almond Praline Frappe, and their bestseller Mudslide Frappe. Priced at P110 for a 12-ounce glass, the cafe’s frappes are enough reasons to return to the restaurant.

If the delicious food does not fill you up yet, you may want to cap off your dining experience with desserts and cakes that have made Cafe Demitasse famous to its patrons. Wait until you see the monstrous Banoffee Pie (P110 per slice), which does not scrimp on ingredients. It consists of heaps and heaps of banana slices sitting on a graham crust, lined with chocolate and topped with condensed milk, whipped cream and chocolate shavings. (Just writing that sentence made me crave for a slice!)

There are more reasons to love Cafe Demitasse. The staff are well-trained and always ready to assist. Even their security guard has lightning-fast reflexes: he never failed to assist us for parking when he notices that we slow down in front of the cafe. The place has a speedy WiFi connection and an al fresco dining area at the second floor.

With its relaxed atmosphere, awesome food choices and efficient staff, Cafe Demitasse offers a one-of-a-kind, all-in-one dining experience. I’m already counting the days until my next visit!
