BlackBerry Offers More Affordable Devices and Free Nicki Minaj Tickets

The smartphone market is a huge one, with more and more people buying new gadgets everyday and preferring those that seem to be able to do everything. With several new smartphones launched here and there, BlackBerry, one of the major players in the industry, pushes its platform more aggressively with products and services for customers of different needs and budgets.

I have always associated BlackBerry with expensive devices. I was glad to learn that BlackBerry is now offering more affordable devices. Take, for instance, the BlackBerry Curve 9220, which one can now get for free with a Globe Plan P499 plus P99 BBM subscription.

I’m pretty sure Filipinos, who thrive on staying connected anytime, anywhere would find the unlimited BBM messaging, photo sharing and group chats feature of BlackBerry phones really interesting. The company also shared that it is working with Globe, Smart and Sun to offer more options to customers.

In a briefing at Marco Polo Hotel Davao, Research in Motion (RIM) Director of the Philippines Cameron Vernest shared that BlackBerry is also targeting the youth market. Aside from more affordable devices and unlimited BBM services, RIM, in partnership with Globe Telecom, is also bringing international artist Nicki Minaj to the Philippines for a concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on July 11, 2012, as part of her Pink Friday Tour.

Customers who purchase a new BlackBerry Curve 9220 with a Globe My Super Plan gets 1 free ticket to the Nicki Minaj concert, while those who purchase a new BlackBerry Curve 9320 with a Globe My Super Plan gets 2 free tickets. The BlackBerry Curve 9220 comes free with My Super Plan P499 plus P99 BBM subscription, while the BlackBerry Curve 9320 comes free with My Super Plan Unli Surf Combo P999. 1. I love BBM because with BBM I can always get in touch and be connected with my friends 24 hours a day. With BBM’s unlimited services I can share pictures, listen to BBM music and can also even go for online group chats. It’s like having a conference thus making our lives more fun with BBM. If I run out of credit/load on my Blackberry or BB phone, I can always get in touch with the person by sending him/her with a BBM message or in short I can always ping him/her anytime, anywhere! 🙂 One of my favourite apps next to BBM is the TringMe. With TringMe I am saved from the heavy burden of long-distance call charges since I work outside my country (Davao City, Philippines). I am happy and grateful that TringMe is there to help me get in touch both with my family, friends and loved ones back home free of charge! Yes, free of charge long – distance call. This is really amazing! TringMe also offers other services such as instant messaging or chatting. I look forward for more smartphones apps especially for Blackberry users like me.

  2. Hi.

I desperately need a new phone and I think Blackberry is a good choice. I might consider Blackberry when a buying a new phone since there are incentives. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Wow! Blackberry has finally arrived in Davao City

  4. My favorite smartphone app would be dropbox. I am able to sync all my files on all my gadgets under different platforms (YES! Including blackberry, of course) anywhere I go!

Sharing real-time on the go! Never worry of always forgetting to bring the usb because you can just drop the file in the dropbox and it autosyncs on all people I share it with.

As a student, I use it for viewing documents, pictures, videos and practically any file type shared by my classmates. No more connecting wires, no hassle. Just the blackberry and the dropbox, you are good to go!

  5. denfinitely BBM! 🙂
