The Study Aide Avenue: Where Global Opportunities Begin

Despite the global economic slump, the trend of people moving all over the world to look for work opportunities is at its unprecedented peak. In the Philippines, for example, around 8.5 million Filipinos are currently working or residing or both in over 200 countries or territories worldwide.* Most common destinations of these OFWs and migrants are English-speaking countries like the USA, the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

TSAATo ensure skills competency, however, embassies, schools and employers of these countries require student, work and migrant visa applicants to show a certification of their English proficiency level. From among the many English proficiency testing systems available, the IELTS, which stands for International English Language Testing System, is the most trusted and popular.

This is the inspiration behind the creation of The Study Aide Avenue, whose main aim is to empower Filipino professionals through English. Many people refer to it as “TSAA” or simply “Study Aide,” but all of them are one in saying that it is the premier stopping place for IELTS review in Mindanao. Established in 2004, the center has enabled at least 3,000 applicants achieve their required minimum band scores for the IELTS and helped them achieve their dream of studying, working or migrating abroad. This figure is the highest number ever achieved by a review center running one sole branch and the first in the Philippine IELTS history. And why? This is because the center has:

•    the best review facilities
•    the best reviewers
•    the most organized review program; and
•    the most flexible review schedules―15 choices in total

TSAA classStudents attest to the reviewers’ unparalleled teaching methods, which improve students’ vocabulary and test-taking techniques with the use of a variety of English materials. As a result, test takers are confident, and the center has produced the most number of top scorers achieving the highest score of 9.0. The center has also been awarded as top (1st prize) IELTS registration agent in Davao City for two consecutive years now.

The Study Aide Avenue’s clients are mainly healthcare professionals, like nurses and doctors, although it also caters to other professionals who wish to work or migrate to any country where English is the primary language. A number of professionals and students who wish to be granted a student visa also avail of the review. And while The Study Aide Avenue is technically a review center, its office and classroom administration are a cut above the rest: classes start promptly, rooms are very comfortable, the staffers are very professional, and the lectures are very effectively and efficiently delivered―more like a real school.
