Davao music rides high again, as local band Eevee rocks its way to bag the grand prize in Nescafe 3-in-1 Soundskool 2009. Eevee bested 12 other bands from different parts of the country.
The band boasts of fresh young talents: Enzo Miguel Villegas on guitar and vocals, Paolo Raymundo Segura on lead guitar, Jerrick Adrian Sy on bass, and Craig John Neniel on drums. According to their Facebook fan page, Eevee is an “alternative rock band from Davao formed from both rock and jazz influences”. In Soundskool, they proudly represented Philippine Women’s College of Davao.
With their win this year, the band gets to be signed up with Sony Music, and is currently rounding Metro Manila to showcase their music. They also earned P250,000 in cash.
Nescafe 3-in-1 Soundskool started in 2005, and has been helping young musicians reach their dream of stardom. Soundskool “hopes to discover the best college bands and help make them famous”.
