DOST Scholarship Application Extended!
The Department of Science and Technology has extended the application for scholarship until October 9, 2009. The scholarship is open to high school students with high aptitude in science and technology who plan to pursue priority fields in basic and applied sciences, engineering and science teaching.
There are 2 scholarship programs under which you (or someone you know) may qualify — the RA 7687 for deserving students from poor families and the DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship for qualified students regardless of the family’s economic status.
Scholars will be covered for the following education-related expenses: tuition fees (not to exceed P6,000 per semester), monthly stipend, book allowance, uniform allowance and insurance.
On a more personal note, this piece of news comes special to us, as Hubby and I have both been scholars of DOST while in college.

ano po reqmnts? taga-kidapawn po ksi ako pero sa davao ang plano nmin na mg-college ako. saan ako na dost office puede mag-apply?
DOST made things difficult for me. Specifically: Being on the NBI HIT LIST EVERY TIME I RENEW MY NBI CLEARANCE. I have to wait for another 10 working days just to get myself cleared. It makes life twice as hard. It’s quite frustrating having to stay there at the NBI office with all the smelly sweat ambiance and be at that situation again after two weeks.
meron po kasi akong pamangkin n hindi kayang mapag aral ng kanyang mga magulang dahil s kahirapan nakita ko po ang kanyang pag pursige sa pag aaral, gusto ko po syang tulungan, nakita ko po itong inyong site…sana makatulong s batang ito….ano po ba ang kailangan para maka avail po sya at meron po ba dito s toril lng para hindi n po sya mahirapan sa pamasahe…mag 3rd year high school na po sya ngayong pasukan…sana maka pag college sya sa paraan ng iyon pagtulong…maraming salamt po.
@darly: Pagdating niya ng 4th year high school, itanong na niya sa DOST ang schedule ng application at exams. Maraming slots na binibigay ang DOST for deserving students.
